Before becoming Central America’s premier rainforest destination, the Osa Peninsula was famous for its high grade and abundant gold deposits. Head to the old gold mining town of Agua Buena or Dos Brazos EL TIGRE, where you’ll enter the epicenter of Costa Rica’s 20th century gold rush. You’ll learn to pan for gold and see how the experts separate the precious metal from the rock. And maybe you’ll even quit your day job: you can keep all the gold you find.

Guaymi Indigenous Village

During this tour you will get to know the Guaymi village. Guaymi symbolizes the red macaw and is a group of indigenous men and women from the Alto Laguna community that has organized an ecoturistic and cultural project which utilizes natural resources and indigenous culture in a sustainable way. With a tour guide you are going to the indigenous village. You will visit the families, the community, learn about medical plants and have a traditional meal with local indigenous.
