TWO nights in Sirena with circuit hike from Los Patos – Sirena – La Leona
A fascinating journey through the paths that wind through the lush coastal mountains and the beaches of Corcovado National Park, rated by many experts as one of the world’s natural wonders.
The Amazon of Corcovado is populated by a “who’s who” of endangered species, including the puma, jaguar, tapir, poison dart frogs and crocodiles.
Corcovado National Park is located on the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica and contain in its territory 5% of the entire global biodiversity.
Itinerary day by day
8 am: Departure from San Jose to the village of Playa Blanca near La Palma Village, in the Osa Peninsula.
By noon lunch we will take on the road in good restaurant. Located on the highest point of the Pan American highway, from where it is possible to observe extensive moorland sites.
3 pm: Arrive at La Palma. Accommodation at Cabins. Options, LapaMar, Osa Pamas, Danta Corcovado & others. 6 pm: Dinner
With a 4 wheel drive Jeep we will drive early in the morning to Guadalupe small village. After a typical Costa Rican breakfast we will go to the river of Rincon. Here we have to cross the river several times and you will have spectacular landscapes. Finally we have to start with our hike and start to hike up to Rio Rincon to Los Patos Ranger Station in Corcovado National Park. (Only during the rainy season, from July to being December). During the dry season is possible to get with the jeep direct to the entrance of the park from la Palma. After reaching the ranger station of Los Patos we will hike 26 km (14 mile) across the heart of Corcovado Park to Sirena Biological Station on the Pacific Coast. Overnight: Camping at Sirena Biological Station. [Breakfast, box-lunch and Dinner].
Your base camp overlooks a spectacular, wild tropical beach surrounded by a vast rain forest wilderness. Habitat of jaguar, tapir, squirrel monkey, peccaries and a healthy population of scarlet macaws. Today you hike and explore the surrounding environment around Sirena, nice swimming hole in the Rio Claro River. Overnight: Sirena at Corcovado (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
After your breakfast at the Sirena Station you will start with your 20 km (12 mile) hike along the southern coastal trail to La Leona ranger station. You continue with a beach walk to Carate where a 4-wheeldrive car will be waiting for you transfer back to Puerto Jimenez.
Overnight; Local hotel or Cabin in Puerto Jimenez (with private bathrooms and hot water). Dinner.
8am: Transfer from Puerto Jimenez to San Jose.
Price: $565.00 per person Includes transportation in a comfortable car (round trip) collective transportation to and from the Corcovado Park, naturalist tour guide 3 days, entrance fees and camping, all meals at Sirena ranger station, (2dinners, 1lunch, 2breakfast) 2 box-lunches during the walk. *NOTE 1, ACCOMODATION:* *Your will sleep at tent or accommodation at la Sirena Station is really basic, special the build is designed for teachers, researchers and nature lover tourists, but yours can find the basic things like, toilet, bathroom, potable water, each Sheet(s). Sheets are not provided, bring a second one to sleep on top of if you want, and remember weight when packing, sometimes they are no space available in La Sirena and we have to sleep in our tents, we supply tents, but we will advise you first when is no possible that is one the reason we prefer to work in advance with the dates especial to guarantee the services in Sirena, like food and accommodations/rooms, but is much better to sleep in tents more private and many mosquito’s as well inside in the rooms sometimes, is part of rainforest.*
*NOTE 2, FOOD INFORMATION: **the meals at Sirena biological station are cooked by the tour guide is typical Costa Rican food, please advice in your request if a special diet is request, but is really good food.*
*NOTE 3, TRAIL LOS PATOS: **in rainforest covered with roods could be muddy, distance, 26 kms, 14 miles, time, 8-10 hours from Los Patos station.*

*What to bring: *
Hiking shoes, rainjacket, hat and good sunscreen, camera, sunglasses, (hiking poles are useful, but no obligatory) sandals or shoes for resting time, sheets, towel, *mosquito net*, insect repellent, personal medicines, energy food, daypack, good flashlight with extra batteries. Pack everything in plastic bags inside your backpack.
We recommended maximum weight: 12 kg / 26 pounds of luggage, or less. Your overweight luggage can be stored either in your hotel or, please inform to provide instructions.
